๐พ Welcome to Pawsbury
Pawsbury is a persistent furry town built on working-class English grit โ brick terraces, locals' pubs, council paperwork and all. It is a strictly 18+ community: every citizen here is an adult, by invitation.
There are no health bars and no combat. The game is the town itself: own a terrace on the Street, hang your art in the Gallery, natter in the pubs, trade on the Market, climb the Citizens Board, and leave your mark in other folks' guestbooks. Everything you build and say persists โ Pawsbury remembers.
Your first day, in five steps
- Open the Street (๐บ๏ธ in the compass) and wander the 3D town.
- Visit a pub โ the Golden Tail or the Tipsy Wolf. Chatting with 2+ other patrons literally earns you Cookies (see Pubs & the Social Heat).
- Set up your fursona under ๐ฆ My Fursonas, and a profile picture in Settings.
- Browse the Market for commissions and crafts, or post your own listing โ it's free.
- Eye up an empty plot on the Street. When you can afford it, apply for Planning Permission and put your name on a deed.
About this Library
The shelf on the left covers every system in town โ and your ๐ Reader's Card quietly remembers which shelves you've read (in your own browser only; the Librarian keeps no records). Read them all and she'll declare you a ๐ Pawsbury Scholar. Every article ends with a ๐พ Take me there button, so you're never more than one click from the thing you just read about.
๐ก The header is your toolbelt: the bell (๐) catches bids, sales, follows and Council verdicts live; the search (๐) finds citizens, estates, art, articles and listings; and the radio (๐ป) pipes Club Howl's station wherever you wander.
๐ Your Account & Safety
Pawsbury is 18+ only, permanently. Membership is by invitation โ every account traces back to a Wolf-forged invite key. Accounts found to belong to minors are terminated, not warned. The full legal texts โ Terms, Privacy Policy, EULA and the Town Charter โ live behind the links on the front gate.
One session at a time
Pawsbury runs a strict one-active-session rule. Logging in on a second device or tab signs out the first โ the town never lets two of you exist at once. If your session expires you'll be returned to the gate; your Cookies, deeds and messages are all safe on the shelf.
Your face about town
Your profile picture and bio live in โ๏ธ Settings. Under ๐ฆ My Fursonas you can keep a whole cast of characters โ names, species, reference details โ shown proudly on your public profile for commissioners and friends alike.
Your data
- Private messages are encrypted at rest โ even the database stores only ciphertext.
- Your browsing trail (the Local Timeline) is stored only in your own browser โ the server never sees it. Clear it anytime.
- Public chat is moderated under the Redaction Protocol โ reported messages go to the Wolves, and upheld reports are redacted everywhere.
- Privacy toggles in โ๏ธ Settings put you in charge: show or hide your property deeds publicly, opt out of newspaper notifications, and remove yourself from the Resident Directory entirely.
The official channels โ and the way out
๐ฌ Contact Administration (in Settings) is the direct line to the town's keepers for anything the report buttons don't cover. And the Danger Zone below it holds the door: deleting your account is permanent and honoured โ your right to leave is as real as your right to stay.
โ ๏ธ Nobody official will ever ask for your password. Report anyone who does โ see The Council & the Wolves.
๐ช The Cookie Economy
Cookies are Pawsbury's closed-loop play tokens. They are points, not money: they can never be cashed out, never converted back into anything real, and can never be part of a real-world deal (the Market strictly forbids it). Everything Cookie-shaped stays inside the town.
Earning Cookies
- Pub company โ the Social Heat flows when 3+ citizens share a pub (see Pubs & the Social Heat).
- Gifts โ citizens can transfer Cookies to each other (pints, tips, kindness).
- Gallery tips โ admirers can tip your artwork.
- Selling property โ when the Council approves a buyer for your listed home, the proceeds land in your wallet.
- Town events โ Happy Hours, Magistrate bonuses and seasonal occasions.
Spending Cookies
- Land & roads โ plots, buildings and drawn lanes via Planning Permission (the big one). Escrowed while the Council deliberates; refunded in full on rejection.
- AWOOs โ a 100 ๐ช town-wide broadcast on the Furboard.
- The Lucky Cat Casino โ slots, cards and the wheel.
- Pack keys โ 50 ๐ช per invitation key your pack mints.
- Council tax โ the daily levy on owned plots.
๐ฆ The Bank of Pawsbury
The Bank page is your treasury window: your live balance, the town's 24-hour Cookie volume, and your full transaction ledger โ every pint, tip, escrow and refund, dated and named. The Treasury lists Cookie packages, but they're not on sale yet ("coming soon") โ for now, every Cookie in town was earned.
Your balance also lives in the header (๐ช) and updates live the instant anything moves โ no refresh needed.
๐ซ Never offer or accept Cookies as payment for marketplace goods, commissions, or anything real-world. It's the one trade the town will never honour.
๐ The Pawsbury Market
The Market is the town's notice board for real-world furry trade: commissions, YCH slots, fursuits and parts, plushies, badges, adoptables, music, writing and more. Posting is free.
How it actually works
Furstreet is the board, not the till. Sellers advertise; buyers message; all payment and delivery is arranged privately, off-site, in real currency between the two of you. The town never holds your money โ and Cookies are never payment.
Around the Market
- Browse โ category chips for one-tap filtering, search, and sorts including ๐จ Ending Soon.
- Listings โ up to 5 photos (metadata scrubbed for your privacy), price in GBP/USD/EUR/AUD/CAD or marked Free/Negotiable, shipping scope, commission slots and turnaround.
- โค๏ธ Saved โ your wishlist. Bidding on an auction saves it automatically.
- My Listings โ edit, mark sold, relist (listings naturally retire after 30 days), or remove.
- Reviews โ once a seller marks a deal complete, the buyer can leave a star review. Low reviews have a cool-off so disputes get a chance to resolve first.
- โ Report โ scams, stolen art or prohibited items go straight to the Wolves.
๐ก๏ธ Read the safety notice the first time you trade: research the seller, use payment with buyer protection, get agreements in writing, and trust your instincts.
๐จ The Auction House
Auctions are timed Market listings where citizens bid against each other. Bids are pledges in real currency (GBP, USD, EUR, AUD or CAD) โ when the timer ends, the winner and seller settle privately off-site, like any Market deal. Cookies are never bids.
Running one
- Pick ๐จ Auction when posting: set a starting bid, a duration (1โ14 days), an optional hidden reserve (no sale below it), and a minimum bid increment.
- Once the first bid lands, the auction is locked in โ no edits, no self-"sold". You may cancel, but every bidder is told.
Bidding
- Each bid must beat the current bid by at least the increment. The cockpit shows the minimum and who's leading.
- Outbid? Your bell rings immediately. Everyone watching sees new bids live.
- โก Anti-snipe: any bid in the final 5 minutes pushes the clock back to 5 minutes. Last-second sniping doesn't work here โ the hammer only falls when the bidding truly stops.
- โณ Reminders: an hour before the end, the seller, all bidders and everyone who saved the listing get a nudge.
The hammer falls
When time's up, the town settles it: the winner gets a ๐ bell and a ready-opened message thread with the seller to arrange payment and delivery. If there were no bids โ or the reserve wasn't met โ the listing retires quietly and the seller may post afresh.
๐ก A bid is your word. Pawsbury reputations are long โ don't bid what you won't honour.
๐ฐ The Lucky Cat Casino
The Lucky Cat takes Cookies โ only Cookies, only ever Cookies โ across four tables: slots (1 ๐ช and up), roulette (from 5), blackjack (from 10) and poker (from 20), all capped at 1,000 ๐ช a hand. Wins and losses move through the same town ledger as everything else, so your header balance reacts the moment the cards turn.
Since Cookies are closed-loop play tokens, nothing at the Lucky Cat has real-world value โ it's a flutter between friends, not gambling for money. Even so: the house keeps its edge, and the Librarian has watched many a proud tail walk in rich and pad out humble.
๐ฑ Set yourself a pot before you sit down, and when it's gone, it's gone โ the pubs PAY you to socialise, after all.
๐บ๏ธ The Street
The Street is Pawsbury itself โ a living 3D town draped over Pennine hills, with terraces, pubs, parks, a river, and roads that citizens drew themselves. Day turns to night on the shared town clock, weather rolls through, lamps flicker on at dusk, and traffic putters along the left side of the road, as is proper.
Getting about
- Pan with the d-pad (or drag), rotate and zoom with the map controls, and use Reset View when you've spun yourself dizzy.
- The ๐ toggle previews day/night lighting locally โ the brass clock always shows true town time.
- Click any plot for its quick-card: who owns it, its address and postcode, and what you can do there.
Reading the land
- Green FOR SALE boards โ claimable plots.
- Amber holograms โ land under a pending planning application (someone's beaten you to the paperwork).
- Translucent blueprint roads โ proposed roads awaiting Council approval.
- Enamel FOR SALE / TO LET plaques โ owner-listed property on the resale market.
๐ก Citizens visiting a location appear right on the map โ the town is busiest where the bubbles cluster.
๐ Owning Property: Planning Permission
Nobody simply buys land in Pawsbury โ you apply for it, like a proper English town. Every acquisition runs through Planning Permission:
- 1. Apply. Pick a FOR-SALE plot (or empty land beside a road and choose what to build โ home, shop, pub, gardenโฆ). Write a short statement of intent: the Council reads these.
- 2. Escrow. The full Cookie price leaves your wallet into safekeeping. The plot shows an amber "pending" marker town-wide; one application per plot at a time.
- 3. Adjudication. A Magistrate approves or rejects, with reasons. You'll hear via the bell.
- 4. The verdict. Approved: the deed is yours, the building rises on every citizen's map, and the Furboard announces it. Rejected: every escrowed Cookie returns to you, with the Magistrate's reason.
What land costs
Prices breathe with the town: the Desirability Engine weighs the zone type and its surroundings, so a high-street shopfront costs more than a moorland garden. The quick-card always quotes the live price before you apply.
Structures need a road
Homes, shops and civic buildings must front a road โ any road, including citizen-drawn lanes. Parks, gardens and woodland may sit wherever nature pleases.
Living with a deed
- ๐ The guestbook: every building page carries one. Visitors sign yours (lifting your Popularity); signing theirs lifts your Reputation. The oldest social custom in town.
- ๐งพ Council tax: owned plots fall due for a modest daily levy, swept by the Council's clockwork. Land is a responsibility, not just a trophy.
- ๐ ๏ธ The Landlord Terminal (under ๐ My Properties) names the building, writes the door-plaque, and dresses the place up.
๐ค Selling & Letting Your Property
Owners can put a property on the open market from its quick-card: FOR SALE at your asking price, or TO LET for tenants. A proper enamel plaque is bolted to the wall for all to see.
- Buying a listed home works exactly like any land claim โ the buyer applies, Cookies go to escrow, the Council adjudicates. On approval the seller receives the proceeds and the deed transfers. No instant flips, no gazumping mid-application.
- Enquiring on a let sends the landlord a notice โ terms are between the two of you.
- The District Estate Agent (๐ค in the compass) catalogues every listing by postcode district, so you can browse PB3 terraces from your armchair and fly straight to any listing on the map.
๐ก A property with a pending purchase application can't be re-listed โ the paperwork locks until the Council rules.
๐๏ธ Building Roads: The Architect's Brush
Pawsbury's lanes aren't on a grid โ citizens drew them. The ๐๏ธ Draw Road tool on the map lets you lay waypoints and preview a curving lane, ghost-ribbon style, before committing.
- Cost is by length, quoted live as you draw, and goes to escrow when you submit โ roads are Planning-Permission projects like any building.
- Until the Council rules, your road renders as a translucent blueprint for the whole town: visible, but carrying no traffic and granting no frontage.
- Approved: the lane solidifies, joins the road network, gets a street name and Loyal Mail postcode, and traffic starts using it. Rejected: full refund, blueprint erased.
- Crossings must meet existing roads at a sensible angle โ the brush shows red when a stroke would make an impossible junction, and the town surveyor refuses it server-side too. Clean crossings weld into real junctions.
๐ก New plots gain "road frontage" from an approved lane just by being near it โ draw a road through empty moor and you've opened it for development.
โ๏ธ The Loyal Mail
Every addressable building in Pawsbury carries a Loyal Mail postcode, minted by the town's own postal service (any resemblance to other mail monopolies is firmly denied).
- The town is sliced into a 3ร3 grid of districts: PB1 at the civic centre, PB2โPB9 clockwise from the north.
- The inward code (the bit after the space) follows the postie's walk: odd house numbers on a street share one code, evens share another โ just like a real round.
- The Civic Hall is, of course, PB1 0HQ.
Postcodes appear on quick-cards and deeds, and power the District Estate Agent's catalogue. Your address is part of your standing โ "PB1" carries a certain swagger at the pub.
๐ฐ๏ธ Town Time, Seasons & Weather
Pawsbury keeps one shared clock for everyone โ when it's dusk for you, it's dusk for the whole town. The header shows the time, season and current weather.
- 15 real minutes = 1 town hour, so a full town day passes every 6 real hours โ you'll see dawn, noon, dusk and proper night across an evening's play.
- Seasons turn every 3 town days: spring, summer, autumn, winter, each with its own light, ground palette and weather moods.
- Weather is town-wide and season-flavoured โ drizzle in autumn, snow in winter, the odd glorious summer evening. Street lamps come on by themselves when the light fails.
๐ก The clock survives everything โ restarts, your logouts, the lot. The town's day marches on whether you're watching or not.
๐บ Pubs & the Social Heat
Pawsbury pays you to be sociable. When 3 or more citizens share a pub or sanctuary, the Social Heat begins to flow โ every eligible patron earns Cookies just for being in good company.
- 2 ๐ช per round of Social Heat, with a 10-minute breather between your awards.
- 20 ๐ช per day ceiling per citizen โ it's a social, not a salary.
- A busy pub shows the ๐ฅ buzz badge, and the Furboard crows about it โ buzz draws more patrons, which keeps the Heat flowing. Pubs feed themselves.
- ๐ป Happy Hour: Magistrates occasionally announce multiplied rewards for a limited time. When the toast goes out, get to the bar.
- ๐บ Buy a pint: stand a fellow citizen a round โ your Cookies, their pocket, and the whole pub hears about it. Generosity counts toward their Popularity.
- ๐ After hours at the Tipsy Wolf: the anonymous confession board. Post under cover of whisky; others can react but never learn the author, and every confession burns away after 24 hours.
๐ก Solo lurking earns nothing โ the Heat counts distinct citizens, not open tabs. Bring a friend; better yet, three.
๐ฌ Chat & Stickers
Public chat lives in the town's social rooms โ the pubs, the park, Club Howl. Walk in (or open the page) and you're in the room, with the last 50 messages on the slate.
- A polite 2-second pause between messages keeps the bar civil; the floodgate ejects genuine spammers.
- Stickers come in three aesthetic wardrobes โ standard, dapper and glam โ pick your vibe from the drawer.
- Custom stickers: citizens can upload their own from โ๏ธ Settings โ ๐จ Custom Stickers. Uploads rest in quarantine until a Wolf approves them โ nothing reaches the drawer unvetted.
- Every message wears a โ โ report anything that breaks the town's laws and the Wolves will read it. Upheld reports are redacted for everyone.
Who's in the pub right now shows above the chat โ names, faces and the ๐ฅ buzz state, live.
And for atmosphere: hit ๐ป in the header for Club Howl Radio โ the club's station follows you around the whole town.
โ๏ธ Private Messages
Direct messages live in the Market's Inbox โ every conversation hangs off a listing, which keeps trade talk honest and organised.
- Threads open when you contact a seller, make an offer, or win an auction (the town opens that one for you).
- Messages are encrypted at rest in the town vault โ transport and storage are both sealed.
- PM stickers work just like pub stickers.
- When a deal genuinely concludes, the seller hits Mark Complete โ that's what unlocks the buyer's right to review.
- The โ report sits on every received message. Reporting shows the Wolves that message โ your private thread stays private.
๐ฅ Friends, Followers & Packs
Three rings of belonging in Pawsbury:
- Following โ one-tap, one-way. Follow anyone whose doings interest you; they'll see a "follows you" pill and you'll boost their Reputation. Your follows live under ๐ Following.
- Friends โ mutual, by request and acceptance. Friendship weighs heavier than a follow in the town's Popularity reckoning.
- Packs โ Pawsbury's houses. Found one or join by invitation, wear the name, and mind your standing: packs can cast members out, and an outcast carries the mark a while. Minting pack invitation keys costs 50 ๐ช apiece โ membership is meant to mean something.
๐ก Every follow, request and invitation rings the other citizen's bell โ belonging here is always consensual.
๐ The Furboard & AWOOs
The Furboard is the town's living notice board โ it rolls through the day's news up in the header, all by itself:
- ๐พ New citizens taking up residence
- ๐ Deeds claimed and permits approved
- ๐ฃ๏ธ New roads opened
- ๐จ Fresh art on the Gallery walls
- ๐ฅ Pubs hitting their buzz
- ๐ฐ The Pawsbury Gazette's census, every few hours
- โ๏ธ Council notices and scheduled announcements
The AWOO
Want the whole town to hear you? An AWOO is a paid personal broadcast: 100 ๐ช for up to 140 characters, queue-jumping straight to the front of the Furboard with your name and face on it. One per 30 seconds, and the price is burned โ spent into the void, not paid to anyone. Make it count.
๐๏ธ The Iron Paw Stadium
Pawsbury's sporting pride โ except the sport is video games. The Stadium is the town's gaming hub, where citizens post their best showings from the games they play outside the town: Call of Duty, FIFA, Rocket League and friends.
- Submit your score with the game, the number, and proof (a clip or screenshot link) โ bragging is free, but receipts are expected.
- Top showings hang on the Stadium boards for the whole town to argue about at the pub.
๐ก The Stadium is for glory, not Cookies โ your aim is your own; the town just keeps score.
๐จ The Gallery
The Pawsbury Gallery (๐จ in the compass) is the town's art wall. Upload your work through the Creator Studio โ images are scrubbed of hidden metadata on arrival, your privacy intact.
- The Theater โ full-screen viewing with the artist's rail alongside: follow, favourite, tip.
- โค๏ธ Favourites and โ
paw-scores from fellow citizens raise your art's standing โ and your own Prestige.
- ๐ฌ Comments and emoji reactions โ leave your thoughts under any piece; thoughtful commenting feeds your own Reputation too.
- ๐ช Tips โ admirers can send Cookies to the artist on the spot.
- The Grand Archive hangs the town's masterworks (4.5 paws and above); the Town Museum keeps Pawsbury's history.
- New uploads get a turn on the Furboard, so the town sees fresh work without anyone shouting.
๐ก Gallery glory is the main road to Prestige โ see Rep, Pop & Prestige.
๐ฐ The Daily Growl
The Daily Growl is Pawsbury's newspaper โ pressed on schedule by the town's clockwork and archived edition by edition. Expect town statistics, goings-on, and whatever the press found fit to print. Old editions stay on file in the rack; a town that remembers needs a paper of record.
๐
Reputation, Popularity & Prestige
Three bars under your profile measure your standing โ each earned a different way, none of them buyable:
โ๏ธ Reputation โ what you contribute
Grows from followers gained, properties held, art uploaded, guestbook entries written and comments left. The town rates citizens who build.
๐บ Popularity โ how the town takes to you
Grows from friendships, favourites on your art, pints and tips received, and guestbook entries left at your door. The town rates citizens it likes.
โฆ Prestige โ the quality of your works
Grows from high paw-scores on your art (weight rises with the number of votes), gallery awards, and a steady body of work. The town rates citizens it admires.
Each bar climbs through six titles โ from Stranger, Wallflower and Newcomer up to Pawsbury Legend, Life of Pawsbury and Grand Master. The ๐
Citizens Board ranks the whole town on all three; your bars update live as the town reacts to you.
โ๏ธ The Council & the Wolves
Pawsbury is governed from the Council Hall by its Magistrates โ the Wolves. They are moderators, planners and judges in one:
- Planning โ every land application, property sale and proposed road crosses a Wolf's desk. Rejections always carry reasons; escrows always come back.
- Moderation โ reported chat, messages, listings and stickers land in the Wolf's Den queue. Upheld reports are redacted under the town's Redaction Protocol; the original stays sealed for the record.
- Proclamations โ scheduled town announcements, Happy Hours and seasonal events ring out from the Council through the town clockwork.
- Invitations โ Wolves forge the invite keys that admit new citizens. Every resident was vouched for.
Visiting the Hall
The Council Hall page is open to every citizen: the Top Estates by Valuation register, the roll of recent citizens, and the town's public announcements. Civic life happens in the open here.
โ๏ธ Verdicts arrive by bell, in plain words. If a Wolf rules against you, you'll always know why โ and your Cookies will always find their way home.
